It is with great sadness that the family of Ronald L. Manning of Naphtha, AB announces his peaceful passing on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at the age of 91 years.

Ron was a wonderful father, loving and devoted to both his immediate and extended family members, as well as his lifelong friends. He was a skilled outdoorsman who particularly loved fly fishing on the Highwood River, and passed on his love of animals and nature to his children.

Ron spent his entire career in the oil & gas sector in Alberta, working throughout the province. In this capacity, he was a skilled and amicable salesman, receiving multiple achievement awards from his employers.

He was predeceased by his parents James and Blanche Manning along with his brothers Robert and James Manning and sister Sharon Baines.
Ron is survived by his son and daughter-inlaw Todd and Denise Manning of Metchosin, BC. His daughter Janice Fercho and her partner Bruce Lawrence of Calgary, AB. His brothers Richard Manning of Diamond Valley, AB and Donald Manning of Lomond, AB, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Ron was a proud and loving grandpa to his three grandsons Philip and Eric Manning of Metchosin, BC and Jacob Fercho of Calgary, AB.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Oilfields General Hospital for their kind and compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers a donation in Ron’s name may be made to The Alberta Wildlife Federation, www.albertawildlifefederation.ca An announcement regarding a celebration of life will be made at a later date.
