Diamond Valley looking into new gateway signs

Black Diamond and Turner Valley signs could be on the way out in Diamond Valley

More than a year after amalgamation, new town signs are on the horizon in Diamond Valley.

Existing Black Diamond and Turner Valley signs have remained in place since the two communities amalgamated at the beginning of 2023, and the Town is moving forward with having them replaced.

“Existing signs display the former individual community names and need to be replaced with signage reflecting the new amalgamated name and a refreshed community vision,” the Town said.

In a request for proposal posted on May 6, the Town said contractors have until June 5 to place bids for the design, construction and installation of four new gateway signs to go in various locations around Diamond Valley.

Proposals must include at least three design options for the new signs, the Town said.

The successful contractor will be responsible for providing and installing new signs and removing the existing ones.

The Town said that depending on the design and cost of the signs, it may not purchase all four in the same year.
