The deadline for artists to apply to be involved in this summer’s Nooks & Crannies Festival in Okotoks is tomorrow.
The Nooks & Crannies Festival, which will run from July 20 to Aug. 24, will see artists create temporary, site-specific installations in the downtown area. The festival sees artists repurpose and animate forgotten places with ‘forgotten’ materials, bringing public art to forgotten corners of downtown Okotoks.
Individual artists and teams use recycled products to create installations that raise environmental awareness, animate spaces and entertain audiences.
All accepted artists will receive a minimum $300 fee for their participation, with the potential to win a prize up to $1,500.
Prizes will be awarded by a jury appointed by the festival. Scoring considerations for prizes will include technical execution, best use of materials, environmental message and best use of a nook or cranny.
The application deadline is Sunday, May 5. For more information or to apply, visit okotoks.ca/nooks.
